Contribution to the EP debate on the amendment of the TWF Directive

In May 2006, the Open Society Institute EUMAP and Media programmes submitted a position paper to the Members of the European Parliament involved in the debate on the review of the "Television without Frontiers (TWF)" Directive.

This OSI contribution is mainly based on the findings and recommendations included in the series of OSI monitoring reports, Television across Europe: regulation, policy and independence, which covers 20 European countries.

The contribution is divided in two parts:

  1. Selected recommendations related to the issues to be discussed by the European Parliament.
  2. A short description of the Television across Europe monitoring project.
