Participation in public hearing of the EP Intergroup on Press - Communication - Freedom

Mark Thompson, one of the editors of the Television across Europe monitoring reports, was a guest speaker at a public hearing organised by the European Parliament Intergroup on Press-Communication-Freedom.

On 15 March 2006, the Intergroup on Press-Communication-Freedom organised the following event:

Media professionals put forward their priorities for a European media policy
a public hearing to acknowledge the opinion of the trade unions, and those working in production and distribution

From 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., Strasbourg, room N1.3

  • Mr. Thompson, EUMAP/OSI
  • Mr. Soloveicik, SEDPA, President

Following up on Mark Thompson's participation in this meeting, EUMAP and the Media Program prepared an OSI contribution to the European Parliament debate on the amendment of the Television without Frontiers Directive.
