- Press release: According to a new report by the Open Society Institute, “pluralism of information and the independence of RAI were strangely neglected” by Prodi’s administration. The report, part of the series "Television across Europe 2008", will be presented during Eurovisioni 2008.

- Press release: According to a new Open Society Institute report, broadcast media in Albania continue to be unstable. This report, part of the series ‘Television across Europe: Follow-up reports 2008’, expresses concern over the viability of Albania’s overcrowded commercial broadcast sector. It also questions the future of a public broadcaster that is stuck in transition. It ultimately warns of a situation which affects the quality of information available to most Albanian citizens.

- 6 June 2008: Television in Lithuania in need of reforms, new report says
- Television, the main source of information for citizens, is a pillar of democracy. According to a new report on the situation of television in Lithuania, both public service broadcasting and commercial television in the Baltic state still require reforms in order to offer citizens access to quality information. The report, drafted by a journalist Arturas Racas, is released on 6 June 2008 in Vilnius in cooperation with the Lithuanian Center for Independent Journalism.

- Vilniuje, viešbučio NOVOTEL konferencijų salėje pristatomas Atviros visuomenės instituto stebėsenos projekto "Televizija Europoje: 2008 m. ataskaitos" dalis, parengta žurnalisto Artūro Račo. Naujajame stebėsenos projekte atnaujinta devynių iš dvidešimties šalių, kurios buvo įvertintos 2005 m. ataskaitoje "Televizija Europoje: reguliavimas, politika ir nepriklausomybė", analizė. Naujausia ataskaita apie televizijos situaciją Lietuvoje teigia: ir visuomeniniam transliuotojui, ir komercinei televizijai vis dar būtinos reformos, kad piliečius pasiektų aukštos kokybės informacija.
- 23 May 2008: Bulgarian television landscape dominated by business interests, not public interest
- Press release: According to Assya Kavrakova, author of a new OSI report on television in Bulgaria, “business interests rather than policy decisions have dominated Bulgarian broadcasting in recent years. As a result, and in spite of EU accession, not much has been achieved since the publication of our 2005 report: public service broadcasting is in dire need of a new regulatory framework on funding, new commercial TV licences are still frozen, and digitalization is still surrounded with uncertainty”.

- Съобщение за пресата: Според Ася Кавръкова, автор на новия доклад на Институт “Отворено общество” за телевизията в България, “последните години в развитието на радио-телевизионния сектор в България се характеризират с доминиращата роля по-скоро на бизнес интересите, отколкото на законодателните решения. В резултат на това и въпреки присъединяването към ЕС, не бе постигнато много от публикуването на предишния ни доклад до сега: обществените оператори спешно се нуждаят от нова регулаторна рамка на финансиране, лицензирането на търговските оператори все още е замразено, а около цифровизацията има неясноти и несигурност”.

- Press release: There were hopes after the 2004 elections that the end of Social Democratic rule would boost media independence. Instead, a new Open Society Institute report on the situation of television in Romania indicates, Romanian broadcasting remains the playground of media moguls, interested in pursuing their political and business interests rather than producing high-quality, independent and diverse television programmes. The report, released today in Bucharest, is part of the series "Television across Europe: Follow-up Reports 2008".

- Comunicat de presa: Odata cu incetarea guvernarii social-democrate dupa alegerile din 2004, a existat speranta ca independenta presei se va consolida. Noul raport referitor la televiziunea din Romania publicat de Open Society Institute, arata ca audiovizualul romanesc ramane campul de actiune al mogulilor de presa interesati mai degraba de promovarea propriilor interese politice si de afaceri, decat de realizarea unor programe independente, variate si de buna calitate. Raportul lansat azi la Bucuresti face parte din seriea: Televiziunea in Europa: editia 2008.

- Media Advisory: the Open Society Institute (OSI) and Open Society Foundation (OSF) - London are launching new monitoring reports, "Television across Europe: Follow-up Reports 2008", and a new website, Mediapolicy.org.
