Coming up: Report on the state of broadcasting in Montenegro

The Media Program at OSF, and EUMAP at OSI, are preparing a report on the state of broadcasting in Montenegro.

This will extend the Television across Europe monitoring project, which covered 20 countries and was launched in 2005.

The Montenegro report analyses the relevant policy and regulation, with a particular focus on the ongoing reform of public service broadcasting, and assesses the level and quality of independence in broadcasting.

Authored by Ranko Vujović, a highly experienced media expert, the report also covers the commercial sector and provides up-to-the minute information about the adoption of new technologies. In line with the other Television across Europe reports, the Montenegro report will make recommendations to the government, regulatory bodies, media professionals and activists. A draft of the report will be discussed in June 2008 at a roundtable in Podgorica, open to the main stakeholders and media experts in Montenegro.

7 November 2008: Montenegro report now online.
